Choosing between a 200 mm and 600 mm breading machine? Learn how product size, output, and frying time decide the right model for your line.
4.9/5 - (53 votes)

If you are planning to buy a breading machine, the first question is belt width. A 200 mm model suits small products and low output. A 600 mm model handles larger products and higher capacity. The right choice depends on your product size, required frying time, daily output, and line connection. This guide compares all four models and gives you a clear selection method.

Breading Machine Model Comparison: TZ-200 to TZ-600

ModelBelt WidthKekuatanBelt SpeedDimensi (mm)
TZ-200200 mm1.65 kW4–20 m/min variable1680 × 550 × 1600
TZ-300300 mm1.65 kW4–20 m/min variable1680 × 750 × 1600
TZ-400400 mm2.6 kW4–20 m/min variable2450 × 1000 × 2250
TZ-600600 mm3.7 kW4–20 m/min variable2600 × 1200 × 2250

All four models share the same working principle. An internal auger lifts crumbs to the top hopper while the mesh belt carries the product through the bottom crumb bed. The difference lies in capacity, footprint, and power demand.

Factor 1: Product Size Decides Minimum Belt Width

The product footprint determines the smallest usable belt width.

Small products such as chicken nuggets, meatballs, and small patties measure under 80 mm across. They fit easily on a 200 mm or 300 mm belt with room for spacing.

Medium products such as standard burger patties and fish fingers measure 80–150 mm. They need a 300 mm or 400 mm belt to avoid edge overlap.

Large products such as big burger patties, fish fillets, and chicken breasts measure over 150 mm. They require a 600 mm belt to pass through without folding or piling.

Products that overlap or stack on the belt receive uneven coating and inconsistent crumb weight. Always leave at least 30–50 mm of free belt on each side of the product.

Factor 2: Frying Time Decides Required Belt Speed Range

The coating step must keep pace with the fryer. This is where frying time matters.

Long frying products such as bone-in chicken pieces and thick patties need slower line speeds and often run at 4–8 m/min. All four models cover this range, but wider belts carry more product per minute at the same speed.

Short frying products such as nuggets and small shrimp fry quickly. The line runs at 12–20 m/min to match the fryer. At these speeds, a narrow belt cannot feed enough product to keep the fryer full. You need a wider belt to reach target output.

A simple rule: multiply belt width by line speed to estimate capacity. A 600 mm belt at 10 m/min carries roughly three times the product of a 200 mm belt at the same speed.

Factor 3: Daily Output and Production Scale

Match the model to your real production hours:

  • TZ-200: Small restaurants, test kitchens, and R&D lines producing under 100 kg per day.
  • TZ-300: Small factories and catering kitchens producing 100–300 kg per day.
  • TZ-400: Medium processors producing 300–600 kg per day with medium-size products.
  • TZ-600: Medium-to-large factories producing over 600 kg per day or running multiple shifts.

Choosing a model one size larger than your current need gives room for growth. It costs less than replacing the machine in two years.

Factor 4: Workshop Space and Power Supply

The TZ-200 measures 1680 × 550 × 1600 mm and weighs the least. It fits tight kitchens and can be moved by two workers. The TZ-600 measures 2600 × 1200 × 2250 mm and needs stable floor space plus clearance at both ends for feeding and collection.

Power demand also scales with size. The 200 and 300 models run at 1.65 kW. The TZ-400 uses 2.6 kW and the TZ-600 uses 3.7 kW. All run on 380 V / 50 Hz three-phase power. Confirm your electrical capacity before choosing the largest model.

Factor 5: How Does the Breading Machine Connect with Other Processing Equipment?

A crumb coating machine rarely runs alone. Check the belt width of your existing equipment:

  • The forming machine outfeed width should match or be smaller than the breading belt.
  • The fryer infeed should accept the coated product without transfer gaps.
  • The battering machine, if used, must deliver products spaced correctly for the breading belt.

If your fryer has an 800 mm belt, a 600 mm breading machine is a natural match. A 200 mm machine would leave the fryer underfed and waste frying capacity.

How to Choose the Right Breading Machine in 5 Steps?

Follow this process to select the right model:

  1. Measure your largest product. Add 30–50 mm margin to get the minimum belt width.
  2. Check your frying time. Confirm the line speed your fryer requires, then calculate the belt width needed to feed it.
  3. Calculate daily output. Pick a model that covers today’s volume plus about 30% growth.
  4. Measure your workshop. Confirm floor space, ceiling height, and door access for installation.
  5. Match connected equipment. Align belt widths with your forming, battering, and frying machines.

Which Breading Machine Is Right for Your Production Needs?

The choice between a 200 mm and 600 mm mesin breading comes down to product size, frying time, daily output, and line connection. Small products and low volume fit the TZ-200 or TZ-300. Large products and high volume need the TZ-400 or TZ-600. Wider belts feed fryers faster and support longer production shifts.
